JEE Main 2027 Last Date to Apply: How to Fill the Form
The last date to apply for JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is 22 November 2026, up to 11:50 pm. The fee must also be paid by then. After that, NTA accepts late applications with a ₹500 late fee from 23 to 26 November, and opens a correction window from 27 to 29 November.
Since opening the form on 24 October, NTA has issued two more public notices: an advisory on how to register (28 October) and a clarification for students who made mistakes in their form (30 October). This guide takes you through the form step by step, using NTA's Information Bulletin and all three notices.

Before you start: get these ready
NTA's 28 October advisory asks students to do three things before filling the form:
- Log in with your own account. Registration is through MeriPehchaan, the government's single sign-on, using your own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan login. NTA says this avoids mismatches in identity checks and biometric data later.
- Do a Re-KYC on DigiLocker first, so the form picks up your latest details.
- Match your Class 10 certificate. Your name and date of birth in the form must be exactly as on your Class 10 certificate or marksheet.
The Information Bulletin also advises students to update their Aadhaar card with a recent photograph and the correct name, date of birth, gender and address.
Keep these files ready on your computer:
| Document | Format | Size |
|---|---|---|
| Recent passport-size photograph, in colour, white background, 80% face visible (including ears, no mask) | JPG / JPEG | 10 to 200 kB |
| Signature | JPG / JPEG | 10 to 100 kB |
| Class 10 certificate or marksheet | 50 to 300 kB | |
| UDID card or disability certificate (only if applicable) | 50 to 300 kB |
You will also need a working mobile number and email address. All of NTA's messages go there. A parent's number and email are fine, but one mobile number and one email can be used for only one application.
How to fill the JEE Main 2027 form: step by step
The form is online only, on jeemain.nta.nic.in. You can do all the steps in one sitting or at different times.
Step 1: Register
Sign in through MeriPehchaan and fill in your basic details. The system gives you an Application Number, and you create a password. Note both down. The same Application Number is used for Session 1 and Session 2, and for all future logins.
The password must be 8 to 13 characters, with at least one capital letter, one small letter, one number and one special character (such as ! @ # $ % ^ & * -).
Step 2: Fill the application form
Log in with your Application Number and password, and fill in:
- your personal details,
- the paper you are applying for (Paper 1 is B.E./B.Tech),
- your choice of exam cities,
- your educational qualifications.
Then upload your documents. A live photograph is also taken at this stage, through your computer's webcam or, if it has none, by scanning a QR code with a phone. Sit against a white background with good lighting, with your face clearly visible, including ears, and no mask.
Two choices here deserve extra care:
- Exam cities. The bulletin lists 15 cities in Gujarat: Ahmedabad, Anand, Bardoli, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Gandhinagar, Godhra, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Mehsana, Navsari, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara and Vapi.
- Question paper language. At centres in Gujarat, the paper is offered in English and Gujarati. The language cannot be changed after the correction window closes.
Step 3: Pay the fee
Pay online through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. Bank processing charges and GST are extra.
| Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), centres in India | Male | Female |
|---|---|---|
| General | ₹1,000 | ₹800 |
| Gen-EWS / OBC (NCL) | ₹900 | ₹800 |
| SC / ST / PwD / PwBD | ₹500 | ₹500 |
| Third gender | ₹500 | ₹500 |
If the payment goes through but no Confirmation Page appears, NTA says:
- check the payment status with your bank or the payment gateway,
- if the payment failed, pay again before the deadline,
- if the payment succeeded, contact the NTA helpline so the Confirmation Page can be generated again. NTA refunds any duplicate payment after checking its records.
Step 4: Download the Confirmation Page
Your application counts as complete only after the fee is paid. Then download, save and print the Confirmation Page. Keep it safe, because the Application Number on it is needed for everything that follows. You do not need to send any document to NTA by post, email or WhatsApp.
Made a mistake in the form? Your two options
NTA's 30 October notice gives students two ways to fix errors.
1. Use the correction window (27 to 29 November). For changing some details, this is what NTA recommends. Only certain fields can be edited, and NTA will publish the list when the window opens. After it closes, no more changes are allowed.
2. Submit a fresh form. For Session 1 only, NTA now allows a completely new application, even if you already have an Application Number or have paid. The conditions:
- Only your last form with the fee paid and the Confirmation Page generated is valid. If you start a fresh form but don't pay for it, your earlier paid form stays valid.
- A fresh form gets a new Application Number, and every detail, photo and document must be entered again.
- The deadline is the same: 22 November (or 23 to 26 November with the late fee).
- The fee you paid earlier is not refunded or adjusted.
- You can still appear only once per session. Appearing, or trying to appear, under more than one Application Number is treated as unfair means. Simply holding two numbers is not.
So if you only got a small detail wrong, wait for the correction window. Submit a fresh form only for errors the correction window may not fix, and pay again only if you are sure.
Applying for Session 2
You do not need to apply for both sessions now. NTA will open the Session 2 form from 5 January to 3 February 2027. If you applied for Session 1, you log in with the same Application Number and pay the Session 2 fee. If you want to take only Session 2, you can register then.
Mistakes to avoid
- Waiting for the last week. The portal gets busiest just before 22 November. Apply early so there is time to fix a failed payment.
- Using someone else's number or email. One number and one email can be used for only one form, and all admit card and result messages go there.
- A name or date of birth that doesn't match Class 10. NTA has asked for an exact match.
- Uploading a blurred or wrongly sized photo or document. Check the sizes in the table above before you start.
- Trusting forwarded messages. NTA does not accept corrections by post, email or WhatsApp. Use only jeemain.nta.nic.in.
